The Kargil War hero - sole survivor of the 18 Grenadiers "Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav"

The Kargil War hero (other than Capt. Vikram Batra), unknown to many, sole survivor of the 18 Grenadiers "Grenadier Yogendra Singh Yadav"

In 1999, soldiers of the 18 grenadiers were ordered to advance and capture the Tiger Hill. They were crawling the hill from the back side but then a heavy stone slipped and went rolling over 5 soldiers. These were immediately detected by the Pakistanis and were shot at the moment.

After that 3 grenades were launched by pakistanis straight over the head of the rest soldiers which resulted in even more deaths (but the dead men did their job very well).

Grenadier Yogendra was the only man alive then. 4 bullets had already penetrated his body but he mustered up his courage and went up to the enemy bunkers. There a total of 15 bullets thrashed his body.  But he was still alive! His trouser was torn from the back. He completely lied unconscious there.

As the pakistani men were failing  to send him to the Gods from since 3 days. There was a frustration inside them. But one of them completely got Numb when he saw him breathing after having 15 bullets in his body. He aimed his AK-47 at him and as soon he was about to fire, this brave man stood up and lobbed his grenade on that pakistani chap!!

Bhommmm!!!!

All the enemies over that peak got killed as they were in the vicinity of the explosion and the peak was conquered!
Later Pakistan decided to retreat its forces and the war was won by India.

This brave incident is unknown to many but I suppose now this man won't be!

#MindBlown

Subedar PVC (Now) Yogendra Singh yadav is one of the very fewsoldiers of the Indian Army who have been awarded the "Param Vir Chakra" NOT posthumously!

During an interview with Headlines today, Subedar told that while the enemy was about to shoot him, he thought "ab tak nahi mara, toh ab bhi nahi marunga'! (I haven't died yet so I wont die now!) and then this man did the impossible!
