This incident is before the start of Kargil War.
My dad was in army. At the time of Kargil War, he was posted in akhnoor sub-division. The war had not started at that time. One day he went to LOC with his team to repair the telephone line there. Being the senior most, he asked others to go and check the telephone line and ask him in case of any problem. Few minutes passed, being unable to repair the fault, his juniors came to ask him for help.He came down from the Army Truck, walked some distance, something came in his mind and he walked back to the truck. He asked the driver of the truck to come along with him. He said he is better there but my dad asked him again "tu bhi chal, yaha akele kya krega", this time he agreed. They would have barely walked 100-150 meters and their truck was blown off by a rocket launcher from pakistani side. From that time I started to believe that there is something like luck.
Needless to say Indian Army responded back in its typical style with fury.
