Raghuram Rajan's inspirational success story

He was born in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh in a Tamil family.He graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 1985. He won Director's Gold Medal in IIT Delhi.  He acquired a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad in 1987. He was a Gold medalist at IIM Ahmedabad. He received a Ph.D. in Management from the MIT Sloan School of Management in 1991 for his thesis titled "Essays on Banking". He joined the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago after graduation.

Achievements: 
  • Youngest-ever Economic Counselor and Director of Research (chief economist) at the International Monetary Fund (October 2003 to December 2006).
  • Inaugural recipient of the Fischer Black Prize awarded by the American Finance Association for contributions to the theory and practice of finance by an economist under age 40 (2003).
  • Awarded the 5th Deutsche Bank Prize in Financial Economics for highly influential contributions in a remarkably broad range of areas in financial economics by Center for Financial Studies.
The man who warned the world about the crisis of 2008, three years before it hit. Raghuram Rajan's book "fault lines" is on the required reading list of the united states marine corps . Think about the scenario  , An american military organisation uses an Indian authored book to keep its officers updated on the fault lines in america's economy.
