The Impact Of The 6.7 Magnitude Manipur Earthquake That Destroyed Imphal






According to the Indian Meteorological department, the epicentre was in Tamenglong district, in Manipur and state government officials said the epicentre was at Noney village in Tamenglong around 35 kms from Imphal.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted that an NDRF team has been instructed to move from Guwahati to the areas affected by the earthquake. 


Union home minister Rajnath Singh, who is in Guwahati, also felt the earthquake which occurred in the country's highest Zone V earthquake risk zone. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted about his presence and asked him to oversee the situation.

The states where the tremors were registered include Assam, Manipur, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar.
