Delhi Police Enters Limca Book Of Records For Solving A Loot In 10 Hours #Proud #DelhiPolice

Amidst all the noise surrounding the implementation of Even-Odd traffic regulations in the capital, the Delhi Police has actually done something that everyone is really proud of. The force has entered the Limca Book of Records for solving the biggest cash van heist in the country within 10 hours.

The case which actually led to Delhi Police's unique record happened on November 26 last year. Pradeep Shukhla, the driver of the cash van had fled with cash worth Rs 22.5 crore, leaving the van near Govindpuri Metro station in southeast Delhi.
More than 10 teams of Delhi Police led by ace investigators from the district police were pressed in to investigate the heist, and in less than 10 hours the driver was nabbed and the stolen amount was recovered sans only Rs 10,500

Pradeep was then found gorging on tandoori chicken and gulping down vodka, as he sat on his Rs 22.5 crore loot in an abandoned Okhla factory, barely half-hour from where he had fled with the cash van. The police team found Shukla around 1.45 am at the factory, where he had driven in, unloaded the cash boxes and driven out to leave the van at the Govindpuri Metro station.

This was Shukla's first crime and had mistakenly left behind clues that helped cops get to him within hours. Police analysed GPS logs of the van, Shukla's call records and electronic locations and human intelligence network to solve the case.

Delhi Police Commissioner B S Bassi announced the record proudly on his on Twitter handle on Jan 2.
